ban processed chicken made in China. This chicken isn't inspected by the U.S.D.A. or sold with a country-of-origin label

The U.S.D.A.’s decision to end a ban on processed chicken being shipped from China must be reversed. Because cooked chicken products such as nuggets & soup won’t be U.S.D.A. inspected at processing plants or sold with a country-of-origin label, Americans’ health will be put at risk. We won’t be given the choice to boycott chicken from China, which has questionable food safety track record. The New York Times reported that China “has had frequent outbreaks of deadly avian influenza…it sometimes has been slow to report,” & a recent “F.D.A. investigation tied deaths of more than 500 dogs…to chicken jerky treats that came from China.” The plan is bad for the environment & U.S. jobs. Bloomberg said: “chickens will be slaughtered in the U.S…then shipped to China for processing and re-export."
