BAN Proposed Seismic Airgun Blasts in Atlantic estimated to Kill / Injure 128,000 Whales, Dolphins & Ocean Mammals

Created by J.S. on May 31, 2013

The US Department of the Interior proposed opening up the Atlantic Ocean to Seismic Airgun Blasts used to detect underwater oil and gas deposits. The Dept of Interior announced an estimated 128,000 marine mammals - dolphin, whale, seal etc., will be effected. Seismic blasts may mean EXTINCTION of the NORTH ATLANTIC RIGHT WHALE, a critically endangered whale, which calves only in the blast zone. Seismic blasts are so loud that they cause severe Decompression Syndrome; resulting in the rupture of all internal organs of mammals within hundreds of miles. All marine mammals within thousands of miles are at risk of deafness and displacement, resulting in death by starvation and familial separation. A staggering number of fish could also be displaced or killed. WE OPPOSE SEISMIC AIRGUN BLASTING.
