ban required homework in the k-12 range schools

many teachers force students to do extra work out of school or their grade will be threatened. all that is required in a full school day is about 7 hours. the entire school day is packed with learning and hard work. why should they have to do extra work out of their required time? some simple solutions would be to give an exit ticket out near the end of class to review what they have learned that day and turn it in when the bell rings. if teachers want to give homework, it could just be counted as an extra credit assignment that is optional to the students. it will also be easier on the teachers because they wont have to grade un-needed papers. most of the students with low grades don't do homework because they agree with this statement. this will also eliminate many failing students.
