ban the sale and prescription of opioid based medications in order to curve the heroin crisis across the United States

Created by J.C. on July 01, 2015

Easy access to prescription drugs such as Oxycontin and oxycodone has a direct connection to the spike in heroin use in the United States. Some patients become addicted to the prescribed drug. When it is no longer available via prescription, they turn to illegal, untested, dangerous substitutions such as heroin.
In hopes of slowing the increasing medical problems caused by heroin overdose, including death, I'm asking this administration to make it illegal to prescribe opioid drugs as a pain medication. This action could prevent thousands from becoming addicted and keeping them free of the urge to use heroin. For the safety of tens of thousands of Americans, please consider this action.
