I read today about the shooting and killing in Ohio of wild animals that had been released by their owner before he committed suicide. Truly a sad and shocking story; sad as these endangered animals couldn't be captured alive; shocking that an individual with a criminal record was able to purchase and privately owned so many of these animals over the years without much oversight. A private citizen has no business owning a bear, tiger or lion. These animals should remain in their natural habitat or possibly in zoos.
