Ban Stickers and Labels from Being Placed on Cookware Available for Sale.

Created by D.A. on February 18, 2013

Collectively, the nation spends ~400 million minutes a year peeling stickers off pots, pans, and flatware. In many cases, these stickers and labels do not separate easily from products, so additional time may be required before the goods can be safely used for cooking and food consumption.

Aside from the obvious impedance this peeling effort has on our national productivity, there is a larger social component as well. Less affluent Americans, juggling 3 to 4 jobs while raising 3 to 4 kids, rarely have time to peel these stickers and end up cooking their processed, gluten-rich foods with the stickers (or sticker adhesive) still on the cooking surface. The long term effects of this goo contamination are not being studied and could prove detrimental to early childhood development.
