Dear Mr. President,
I believe I speak for all schoolchildren when I request you ask Congress to consider enacting a ban on summer homework for all students who meet a certain grade requirement, to be determined state-by-state, that would prevent public school teachers from assigning any work over the summer vacation. The rapid growth in required summer work, especially readings and essays, is an alarming problem with the school system. Imagine how many kids either skip entirely the first assignment of the year, limiting their potential, or acquire a biased distaste for that class where there was summer work that prevented them from reaching their learning potentials. I strongly advise you to consider this ban.
