ban telemarketing and its destructive congestion of the nation's communications pathways.

Created by C.F. on February 25, 2013

The Do-Not-Call Improvement Act of 2007 became law in February 2008. Since more than 157 million phone numbers are now on the National Do Not Call Registry, it is obvious that telemarketers have become a huge irritation for the American public. Since complaints by those on the No Call Registry are now up to more than 200,000 per month, it's also obvious that the Registry is not a solution. Part of the problem is that charitable organizations and political groups have been excepted from the No Call List rules. But the main problem is that the FTC refuses to enact rules that would stop telemarketing at its roots. This petition asks the Administration to strengthen the FTC rules governing communications providers by requiring the blocking of telemarketing over their systems.
