Twitter is a wonderful way for us to capture the pulse of the world on any given issue. Lately, however, newscasts, sportscasts and entertainment newscasts have been using this service in an incredibly lazy manner; by reading Tweets out loud, verbatim, while showing those Tweets on air.
This is redundant and unnecessary.
If you can read (Spoiler Alert: If you are reading this petition, you can!) there is no reason for an anchor or reporter to read to you what you are currently looking at.
Especially if that Tweet contains a hashtag.
