The Untied States has clean drinking water that comes out of every tap in every household. We have so much clean water that we use it to water our lawns and wash our cars. We also transport bottled water from overseas such as Fiji Water wasting tons of diesel and other resources to get it here.
Requiring all bottled water to be packaged and sold within 1000 miles would be a reasonable first step in reducing the resources the US wastes on shipping bottled water. In the future I believe the distance should be reduced to under 100 miles.
