Ban the USDA from buying Pink Slime Beef.

Created by A.D. on March 08, 2012

The USDA, due to budget constraints, finds itself often buying from questionable sources. However it has recently come to light that the USDA is buying what has been termed as "Pink Slime Meat" or more officially "Lean Meat Trimmings". Which is "Ground Beef" coming from connective tissue rather than from actual meat. It is not thought to have much, if any, real nutritional value.

It is also highly dosed with ammonium hydroxide, while being deemed safe by the FDA, is thought to have dangerous effects exposed by investigative journalism.

This meat is already banned by our friends and allies in the United Kingdom, and it is time for us to follow their lead. Our kids should not consume this in schools.
