ban the use of advertisements for guns.

Created by S.D. on December 29, 2014

This petition is regarding the advertisement of guns by gun companies. As of January 2nd, 1971, cigarette advertising in the United States has been banned. This was effected by the Public Health Cigarette Smoking Act. The ban was issued because there was mounting evidence that cigarettes were injurious to health.
I recently saw an ad on TV by Glock for handguns. I was disturbed by the advertisement. The idea that a company could buy time on a network to advertise and object whose primary purpose is to either severely injure or kill a human being was disturbing.
If you believe that gun advertising should be limited to within gun stores, sign this petition.
