Neonicitinoids are a class of neuroactive insecticides chemically related to nicotine. Scientific evidence has linked these substances to honey-bee colony collapse disorder in addition to being toxic to birds, aquatic invertebrates, and other wildlife.
Honey bees are responsible for the pollination of approximately one third of the U.S. crop species. The loss of honey bee colonies represents an enormous danger to our national food supply and our economy. Without the crops provided by these bees, we put our national security and stability at risk.
Please ban the use of all neonicitinoids within the United States and also ban the use by producers who import food grown with these pesticides into the United States.
