Many businesses now include in their contracts an Arbitration clause. This clause states that by using the companies goods or services, or by becoming an employee of the company, you agree to waive rights to enter into a class action law-suit against the company in the future, and instead agree to settle disputes individually through a supposedly neutral arbitrator. This limits the ability of individuals to bring to light abuses committed by these companies due to time and monetary costs of arbitration or individual civil court filing.
