Ban the use of artifical food coloring in the United States.

Created by R.A. on November 30, 2013

The United States should entirely ban artificial food dyes, as there are safer alternatives available.

Food dyes are one of the most widely used and dangerous additives. While the European Union has recently placed regulations on labeling food dyes to inform consumers of the health risks, The United States has not done so. Corporations already have switched to natural dyes that aren't contested by the scientific and health conscious communities in these countries, but still use artificial dyes in the United States.

Many companies have started to switch on their own, as private groups have campaigned to those individual companies, but the effect is too small. In one swift motion, the United States could make food safer for American families, with natural dyes that are already in use.
