Ban the use of assault rifles and other military style weapons/equipment.

The public has no need in this country to own weapons designed specifically to kill another human. This petition asks the Obama Administration to ban the use of assault rifles and military style weapons/equipment. Certain models of rifles that are not intended for the purpose of hunting should be banned. Body armor and other tactical equipment should not be sold to the public, as it serves no public purpose and is intended only for assault/combat situations. If our government does not take action to protect us from ourselves, we will continue to see violent gun-crimes on a daily basis. Removing the tools used to commit such terrible crimes will make it more difficult for those who intend harm on society and help prevent those crimes from occurring more often.
