Recently, transit authorities in cities throughout the nation have begun to install microphone-enabled surveillance cameras that are cable of storing and recording private conversations. These systems violate the privacy rights of every American, granted by the Fourth Amendment.
They are currently being implemented in San Francisco, Baltimore, Columbus, Hartford, and several other cities.
This recorded audio could be combined with facial-recognition technology to essentially track the movement and words of every passenger, taking away their civil liberties and right to privacy. These audio-surveillance systems must be banned from use in public transportation before they become used widespread, and we find ourselves in a world with no privacy.
