Ban the use of credit history as a condition for employment.

Created by J.H. on December 01, 2014

In today's economic state, many Americans have gotten behind. Some have student loan debt, credit card debt, unpaid medical bills, and other unfulfilled financial obligations due to economic hardship. Most people want to work to right these blemishes on their credit and their good name. However, thousands everyday are being denied the opportunity to do so through the legally questionable practice of having their creditworthiness used as a condition of employment. We, the undersigned, would like to see a bill introduced to outlaw this exclusionary tactic which is being used to keep those who would be otherwise qualified from obtaining gainful employment. Poor credit does not make one a thief and sometimes good people get behind. It's time they stop being punished.
