We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Ban the use of the Duluth Model in police departments and in publicly funded abuse shelters.

Created by A.R. on July 06, 2016

Members of Congress and other interested parties,

I and those signing this petition would like to request that all United States police departments and publicly funded abuse shelters be barred from basing their procedures on the Duluth Model of domestic violence. The proponents of this model claim that domestic violence is an issue that affects solely women, a claim which is refuted by countless independent studies, including those by Erin Pizzey, who founded the world's first women's shelter, which conclude that domestic violence is very nearly genderless.

For the sake of brevity, I will not go into greater detail, but I urge all those reading to take this issue seriously and to take action to address this blatant disregard to male abuse victims.

Thank you for your time.
