Ban use of firearms on unarmed targets by police

In the recent past, there have been multiple instances in which police officers have used firearms on unarmed civilians. Using firearms on an unarmed target is, to be honest, unfair. Why shoot someone who poses little threat and has no means of defense or retaliation? We raise this petition to demonstrate the public is interested in a law that limits use of firearms on police officers to only clearly armed targets, and that police use safer means of defense against unarmed targets. Any police officer that uses firearms on an unarmed citizen would be breaking the law and guilty of manslaughter at best. This way fewer innocent, unarmed people get killed by police.
