To ban the use of heartstick, both with OR without anaesthetic. It is barbaric & unnecessary. Ban completely, please.

This petition is to stop the practice by animal shelters to employ the practice of heartstick as a means of euthanization for un-adopted/claimed animals. It is grotesque and barbaric. With the current methods of injections being available, both gassing and heartstick are deplorable methods of putting to sleep already scared and heartbroken animals. Jabbing a needle into the heart until it reaches the area needed, is unacceptable. Any vet worth their degree should be opposed to it, as well.
