Lead is a dangerous neurotoxin that is particularly harmful to children, causing potentially permanent learning and behavior disorders. Even at extremely low levels, it can impair cognitive and physical development.
Nearly everyone knows how bad lead is for children, so why are we still allowing them to be found in products for children?
About 3.5% of toys and 15% of children's jewelry had lead levels above the allowed range, according to a report at HealthyToys.org.
The levels Center for Environment Health found levels that can be harmful through prolonged use in soft lunchboxes. Lead is also found in some binders, and many other products made for kids!
Please join me in petitioning the White House to a ban - one that will be enforced - to protect our children from lead!
