Ban the use of military vehicles, fatigues, weapons, and other military surplus, for use by domestic police forces.

Created by J.J. on April 14, 2015

The Homeland is not a battlefield, police are not soldiers, and, citizens are most certainly not the enemy. Yet, that is exactly the image projected by the militarization of domestic police forces in the USA. It is an unacceptable encroachment of our civil liberties to arm domestic police forces with tanks, armored vehicles, RPGs, warrantless surveillance equipment, and assault rifles. Routine police work does not require the use of military surplus, since violent crime in the US has dropped to the lowest point since 1970 [1]. To preserve our civil liberties, We The People demand that domestic police forces be banned from purchasing or receiving any and all military and military style equipment.
