Ban the use of plectrums or plectrum like devices for the playing of acoustic or electric bass guitars.

Although many players prefer to use a plectrum, henceforth referred to as a "pick," when playing a bass guitar as they feel it provides for more "attack," in reality a similar effect can be achieved simply by employing proper technique with ones hands. The use of a pick creates a number of problems that pose a source of potential harm to the listening and viewing public. First, it looks amateurish, the public display of which can have a corrupting influence on youth, emphasizing expediency and convenience over quality and commitment to excellence in ones craft. Secondly, it sounds "clicky." There is a wealth of data on the negative neurological effects of high pitched and generally awful music. Lastly its an affront to great artists like Charles Mingus, Stanley Clarke and Victor Wooten.
