We would ask the government to disallow the use of retreading tires in the transportation industry completely, to match the standards imposed on passenger vehicles. They cause damage to both roadways and other vehicles when they inevitably fail prematurely, which has been proven in multiple tests. We ask that the same standard for passenger vehicle tire standards be put in place for commercial vehicles, namely disallowing the reapplication of tread onto a used tire.
