Retreads are littering the roads and highways across our country. They cause damage to roadways and other vehicles. They have been proven to be unreliable and fail prematurely. This is why it is illegal for passenger vehicles to use them. We would ask that the same regulations be set into place for commercial vehicles, requiring the use of DOT-approved new tires on all road-travelling vehicles.
