Ban the use of the Term "Assault Weapon" when describing Semi Automatic Rifle simply based on Cosmetic Appearance.

Created by J.L. on March 19, 2013

Ban the use of the Term "Assault Weapon" when describing Semi Automatic Rifles simply based on Cosmetic Appearance. The Rifle is no more safe or dangerous because of simple cosmetic attachments. The blatant overuse of the term “Assault Weapon” makes these weapons appear more dangerous; when in fact they are simple “Tactical style” rifles and only differ in appearance. Real Assault weapons give the option to change the rate of fire and include Burst or Full Auto capabilities. The lack of a Full Auto feature prohibits the weapon from being listed as an Assault Rifle.
