From 2005-2009, there were an average of 3,533 fatal unintentional drownings (non-boating related) annually in the United States — about ten deaths per day. An additional 347 people died each year from drowning in boating-related incidents.
This problem has gone on far too long. In an effort to combat drowning, I petition this Administration to embrace a comprehensive plan to stop further drownings. Since water is crucial for a drowning to take place, this petition is demanding action be taken to ban water, the usage of water and all water related products including sinks, bathtubs, squirt guns, water balloons, et cetera.
