About twenty years ago, a US Senate committee (under Senator Hatfield) proved beyond any reasonable doubt that violent movies and video-games accounted for around 20 percent of the "crime" factor. By the time an American adolescent reaches 17 years old, he or she has seen over 20,000 murder scenes. How can extreme violence on the screen not affect the psyche, especially when there is more and more psychiatric medication in schools and worse and worse junk foods ? The Government needs to be responsible and sign executive orders on this issue pending Congress' estrangement from weapon big business.
