Too many banking institutions that received Government Bailouts that were not and have not yet been paid back, must come up with workable longterm solutions for homeowers that have history of maintaining a mortgage for a certain amount of time (ie 5 years+). These homeowners entered into agreements in good faith, but became victim to corporate outsourcing, downsizing and the overall failing economy. Forclosures only worsen the economy. Banks that were bailed out by the government have a responsibility to the taxpayers to try to help them in their own time of need. The current practices are not in designed to help the homeowner, but to help the bank regain the home. New standards need to be in place on a federal level for all banks attempting to forclose on a home.
