Gun violence has increasingly become an issue in recent years. In 1994 President Bill Clinton signed a law that banned the ownership of assault-style weapons that was only valid for 10 years. Now, every 17 seconds someone loses their lives to gun violence and mass shootings like in Orlando at the Pulse Night Club, Sandyhook and Aurora, Colorado would not have been possible if not for semi-automatic rifles.
