Created by F.C. on February 02, 2014

Global Beatles Day (GBD) is a global holiday designed as a "thank you" and "love" expression for the Beatles and their music and impact on all our lives. GBD is a day honoring and celebrating the phenomenon and ideals of The Beatles for their gifts to the world including, but not limited to, their promotion of peace and love, of truth and youth, and of the expansion of human consciousness. More specifically, GBD commemorates the Beatles’ music and their exploration of myriad musical ideas, their expansion of rhythm and blues and rock, and their early promotion of Eastern music and philosophy to the West . GBD is celebrated annually on June 25th, on which the Beatles performed "All You Need Is Love" which was beamed out in 1967 as part of the first global broadcast ever done.
