The Obama administration claims to be committed to open government, yet is not engaging in public debate about the proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership which would directly impact everything from food safety and financial markets to medicine prices and internet freedom. The proposed pact goes beyond trade matters, imposing parameters on non-trade policies. These will directly affect every American: what we purchase, what we export and import. More important, it will take jobs away from this country and water down regulations on risky investments.
