Chagos Archipelago is part of the Mauritian territory. UK has recognized that the Chagos will be returned to Mauritius once the islands are no longer required for defence purposes. This implies that Mauritius, as a sovereign island state, should be part of any negotiation process regarding Chagos. In addition, Mauritius is entitled to any benefit arising from the use of the island.
We, the people of Republic of Mauritius, is demanding the American People, White House Administration, the Senate and the Congress to restore our sovereign right on Chagos Archipelago by negotiating with us over the continuous use of Diego Garcia .
We maintain our strong desire to work in close collaboration with the United States.
