I am a professor of Medicine, Hematology/Oncology. NIH set up guidelines in 2003 for Translational research for Cancer. In my review of several Basic scientists and clinical scientists are not following the ideal proper guidelines from NIH for Translational Research.
Many of the Basic scientists and clinical scientists are doing their research in pure animal mouse. Some of the mouse cancer cells have no similar molecular abnormality like human cancer cells.
Community Outreach Health Services Research in Hershey, PA who gets substantial federal research funds are doing very poor work on their process. US Department of Health & Human Service evaluated Penn State College of Medicine hospital and its Cancer Center in Hershey, PA and listed it very poorly for Cancer patients.
