Because we should take any step we can to "save even one child's life", we must ban home swimming pools.

Created by S.S. on January 16, 2013

President Obama stated that “if even one child’s life can be saved by actions taken in Washington, we must take these actions.” While this statement was made in the context of discussing gun control, there is no reason to limit the policy to that area of law. In fact, if we are to assume that it was made in earnest, we must not limit it to gun control.
According to the CDC, "Among those 1-14, fatal drowning remains the second-leading cause of unintentional injury-related death behind motor vehicle crashes." Furthermore, still according to the CDC "most drownings occur in home swimming pools." Given that saving a single child's life justifies the Federal Government's action, we must urge the Federal Government to ban all home swimming pools. It's for the children.
