Fracking and other crude oil extraction processes are extremely harmful to the environment, as are the frequent offshore spills and pipeline spills. The entire United States could be powered by the Sun with only approximately 6% of the continental U. S. used for fields of solar panels. The Sun is an inexpensive, unharmful, renewable energy source, and the only reason we did not switch to solar decades ago is to keep lining the pockets of billionaire oil company executives. The time is long overdue to start focusing on what is best for the people and the Earth, instead of the 1%.
