The air strike on the hospital in Kunduz is a tragedy that must be investigated. If the hospital was intentionally targeted there is a strong possibility that a war crime has been committed.
If that is the case then those responsible must be prosecuted in accordance with international law.
It is important for the investigation into such an allegation be conducted by an independent party and neither the United States nor NATO can be judged to be neutral parties in this.
We call upon United States government, our government, to invite an investigation by a third party and to provide information to, and to support that party, in determining what happened in Kunduz, why it happened and who the responsible parties are, and to aid in the prosecution of any guilty parties.
