We believe consumer access to broadband internet is artificially limited due to a combination of anti-competitive practices engaged in by a small number of telecommunication companies and furthered by protectionist laws designed to limit supply and alternatives to consumers. These companies engage in blatant price discrimination by failing to provide transparent pricing information while simultaneously obscuring the true standards of service and cost of goods through "limited time promotions" and a refusal to appropriately respond to customer requests. We request the White House take action that addresses the business practices of the offending telecommunication companies and initiate legislation designed to increased competition and an open broadband marketplace nationwide.
