In order for a true democracy to flourish we must have an informed citizenry. That cannot happen if the source of that information is controlled by a few. The current corporate controlled media monopolies are self-censoring their message to keep the public misinformed and fearful. Polls have shown that people who watch Fox News, in particular, know less about current affairs than people who watch no news at all. We cannot move forward as a society, and vote accordingly, when we are misinformed.
