The original Death Star plan was shot down by the Obama administration for having the ability to be destroyed by a single, 1 man starship. The new starkiller base will use less resources, for it is built into Mars, the closest somewhat habitable planet, and it can withstand multiple hits from several star fighters. The only weak point is a small oscillator, which would be heavily guarded. There would be a force field with a fractional refresh rate, so you have to be going at light speed to get in. The Mars has a 2,106 mile radius, which is much bigger than the 47 mile radius of the original Death Star. This would create several jobs, being over 40x bigger than the previous. It would defend against multiple hostile aliens, due to its multi shot laser beam. NASA can build a new sun for us.
