To have the confidence of the people and be effective, it is important that the government fire and prosecute corrupt government officials.
A recent Washington Post* article alleges a wildlife refuge manager Darrin Unruh had government workers do personal labor on his behalf and retaliated against a worker who complained. He received only a 30 day suspension. This is the kind of stuff that makes government dis-functional.
If either allegation is true he should be fired for gross misconduct. If he violated a law, he should be prosecuted.
