Daylight Savings Time is an outdated practice that has few if any beneficial effects in our current society. Changing our clocks ahead one hour in the spring and back one hour in the fall may have resulted in energy savings in the following the oil embargo in the early 1970's, but as technology advances the need to adjust the clocks in order to accommodate energy savings fades. Indeed, as we continue to engage in a global economy and work across time zones more regularly, the lights are nearly always on. Additionally, the human body clock does not adapt well to the change, resulting in adverse health effects for many people. It's time to let go of this anachronistic practice and return to Standard Time in all time zones.
