to begin discussion requiring both future House and Senate members show proof of active military service to serve.

Created by G.W. on August 05, 2013

As a requirement for a person to be elected and serve in either the House or Senate, that individual will have served in some branch of the United States military. Both bodies deal with military issues everyday, but many lack even a basic understanding of what those in the military go through. The benefit would be two-fold; a member elected would have the basic knowledge necessary to comprehend the effects of policy as it applies to the military, and the electorate would benefit from a statesman could show that they have led by example.
