At the current time August 19:2014 two major telecommunication companies Comcast and Timewarner control the greater majority of internet services in the united states. These companies hold monopolies on areas forcing people to choose them and only them meaning that if they don't like the companies prices or service quality they have no option, this allows these companies to ramp up prices without the risk of losing a customer. We propose an installation of a fiber optic network starting in major cities and soon after expanding nation wide to allow for services such as Google fiber to take hold.
