begin an inquiry towards the state of current copyright laws and their effect on the culture and progress of the nation.

Created by D.L. on December 19, 2012

On November 16, 2012 a republican study committee published "RSC Policy Brief: Three Myths about Copyright Law and Where to Start to Fix it."

The document in itself outlines the problems currently posed by our copyright laws on our cultural, scientific, and innovative progress as a nation. With an emphasis on copyright infringement punishments and the copyright length of content, it addresses several ways to fix the problems.

This petition calls for an inquiry to establish whether our current copyright laws are as harmful as the document states. And if so, for the Obama Administration to make reforms accordingly.
