What has been seen in recent years, is the decline of knowledge about what made this country great, the second amendment. Though many contest it, it is considered a god-given and inalienable right, as listed in the constitution. One old tradition pertaining to this right, is the Civilian Marksmanship Program.
This program will allow average citizens to become certified in using firearms, and will also teach those who aren't familiar with firearms on how to properly and safely operate them.
However, in the recent political climate, the Civilian Marksmanship Program has been scrutinized by both sides of the house, and is slowly losing its usefulness. Instead, we must preserve it as we preserve the upstanding rights of our constitution.
