Begin a national debate on a proposed amendment, that would add the concept of "responsibility" to the US Constitution.

Created by J.M. on August 25, 2014

The US Constitution should be amended to read, "That for each right and power guaranteed or granted under the US Constitution, there is an equal and corresponding responsibility".

The word "responsibility" does not even exist in the Constitution. The failure of the founding fathers to address the issue of responsibility as a matter of law, has created an imbalance in our system of laws and justice, that solely focuses on rights.

Pick any social, political, economic, or environmental problem, and you will see that some entity's lack of responsibility is a factor in the existence of that problem. A national debate on this issue would stir the soul of the nation to a self examination of it's values, it's integrity, and it's responsibilities.

This requires much, much more explanation.
