In this the 21st century of the common era it is time to move beyond the archaic concepts that the 2nd amendment addresses. In fully recognizing that the other petitions dealing with this issue would be under constant attack, I believe the only effective way to end the madness that has engulfed this country is to repeal the 2nd amendment and replace it with something that is more in line with a modern civilized society.
