begin the process to repeal the Second Amendment to the Constitution.

Created by R.H. on December 16, 2012

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

When those words were included in the Bill of Rights, "Arms" meant ball and powder muskets, possibly with a bayonet attached. If the government was tyrannical (like King George), the people at least had the same level of firepower, and could form into militias to fight against that tyranny.

Today, the government has significantly more powerful Arms, like tanks and weapons of mass destruction, which the people are no allowed to have. That is, there is already a line, meaning that the original meaning of this amendment is already moot.

Let's just get rid of it.
